As Director of the Spaulding National Running Center, Irene Davis was volunteering at a medical tent near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon. Immediately after the explosions, the tent became a mass casualty center. Irene now uses that first-hand experience at the center to help patients address the new issues they face in understanding how to learn to walk and run again. The center also helps to retrain those who have lost a limb, and was the home to several bombing victims during their rehabilitation.
