Fabian Cancellara (RadioShack-Leopard) broke away from a group of eight riders with 35km to go, beating the field by a minute at the finish. Cancellara is now a three-time champ in the event.
2nd place Michael Rogers (Saxo) finishes the day in 4th, 1:05 behind the GC leader Tejay Van Garderen (BMC). Rogers is now 1:47 behind Van Garderen in the GC race.
Amber Neben (Pastazara) the US women’s time trial champ crashes into the hillside and has to leave the race. She seems to be ok.
After taking the General Classification lead yesterday, Tejay Van Garderen (BMC) increased his lead with a stage win by 1:47. Lieuwe Westra (Vacansoleil) took second, 23 seconds back.
