Wang Meng (CHN) finished with a time of 43.718, beating out yesterday’s 1500m winner Park Seung-Hi. Meng won the gold medal at the 2010 Olympics in the 500m.
Finland Team 1 wins their 7th World title, in the 13 year history, edging out Team Canada 1 by .52 points. Team USA 1 was 3rd and USA 2 was 8th.
After the short program, Team Canada 1 leads over Team USA 1 by .97 points.
Canada’s three year winning streak has ended, as the European champs Sweden get the win 8-6.
