The halfpipe competition takes place in a half-cylinder-shaped course dug deep into the hill. Using speed gained on the slope, skiers come up over the rim of the pipe and perform acrobatic aerial tricks.
Finland Team 1 wins their 7th World title, in the 13 year history, edging out Team Canada 1 by .52 points. Team USA 1 was 3rd and USA 2 was 8th.
After the short program, Team Canada 1 leads over Team USA 1 by .97 points.
Canada’s three year winning streak has ended, as the European champs Sweden get the win 8-6.
