Ted Ligety (USA) looked forward to being the top American on the course, but soon found himself skiing out in the first run. Ligety has been a dominant force is GS, but has yet to find the podium this season in Slalom.
Debuting in 2005, the race piste starts at 985 meters and ends at 785 meters, and is the biggest women’s race of the World Cup attracting some fifteen to twenty thousand spectators. (Full event replay)
Marcel Hirscher (AUT) became the first man to win two slalom races at Zagreb, finishing with a time of 1:56.17. Hirscher leads the overall slalom standings with 420 points.
Mario Matt (AUT) earned his first slalom podium of the season, finishing with a time of 1:57.26, .52 seconds out of second place.
