Former super-combined world champion Anna Fenninger earned her third victory, her first in a speed event. The last Austrian to win a women’s super-G was Elisabeth Goergl in the 2009-2010 season.
Julia Mancuso (USA) gets her 4th Super G podium this season, by .20 seconds over Tina Maze (SLO), who leads her by 55 points in Super G with one race left to go.
Garmisch and Partenkirchen were united to become one town during the 1930s Winter Olympics, while the year before the first cable car in Bavaria was inaugurated in honor of the first winter games.
