2012 London Olympic Games: Sanya Richards-Ross wins 400m
Richards-Ross won her first individual Olympic gold medal in the Women’s 400m. She won with a time of 49.55 seconds and her teammate DeeDee Trotter took 3rd.

Oscar Pistorius, the first double amputee to compete against able bodied athletes in the Olympics, failed to make it to the finals. After taking 2nd in his heat, at 44.94 seconds, he placed last in the Men’s 400m semi-final with a time of 46.54.
As the 2012 London Games come to an end, the Summer Olympics torch is extinguished for another four years.
