Oscar Pistorius, the first double amputee to compete against able bodied athletes in the Olympics, failed to make it to the finals. After taking 2nd in his heat, at 44.94 seconds, he placed last in the Men’s 400m semi-final with a time of 46.54.
Great Britain’s Mo Farah wins his second gold medal — following his victory in the 10,000m earlier in the Games — winning at 13:41.66. Bernard Lagat (USA) finished 4th, .63 seconds off the podium.
