Austrian Anna Fenninger scored her second World Cup victory in a giant slalom after she dominated both runs to clock a combined time of two minutes 13.09 seconds in Semmering.
Teen Mikaela Shiffrin, fourth after the opening run, was charging for back-to-back FIS Alpine World Cup slalom wins, when she got stuck leaning back, hooked an edge, hiked and eventually straddled in the night final.
Home town favorite Kathrin Zettel failed to get the win by only .10 seconds. It’s her 6th podium this season and kept her third in the Cup standings.
A slow second run dropped Tina Maze into third, missing the top spot by .20 seconds, but she still leads the World Cup points overall by more than 400 points.
