2011 Diamond League Doha: Yenew Alamirew wins 3000m
May 6, 2011: Ethiopia’s Yenew Alamirew surges to victory in the men’s 3000m at the Diamond League meeting in Doha.

In the first Diamond League of the season Gatlin (USA) gets the win at 9.97 seconds, .02 over Michael Rodgers (USA). Nesta Carter (JAM) was 3rd at 9.99 as well.
The two time Olympic 100m champ Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce picks up the first 200m win of the new season over fellow Jamaican Sherone Simpson at 22.48 by .25 seconds.
In the final lap, Hagos Gebrhiwet (ETH) crushed the field by 1.65 seconds to get the first win of the season with a World Leading time of 7:30.36.
