One of the most anticipated events leading up to the Olympic Games is the U.S. Team Trials for Gymnastics. Starting June 28, in San Jose, California, this final event will determine which athletes represent the U.S. in London.

The current high jump world champ was suppose to be a shose in, but a rough day dropped him to 4th place, on count back. But with only Jamie Nieto and Erik Kynard Jr making the A standard, Williams just makes the the three man team.

LaShawn Merritt, the gold medalist from Beijing, wins another American title at 44.12, and heads to London with Tony McQuay, Bryshon Nellum. Former champ Jeremy Wariner was 6th at 45.24.
In women’s Discus, Stephanie Brown Trafton wins the title and gets to defend her gold medal from Beijing. Reese Hoffa wins men’s Shot Put, and heads to his third Olympics. And Marquise Goodwin wins the Men’s long jump and heads to London as well.
The silver medalist from Beijing, Jenn Suhr clears 4.60 meters to take the win and lead the Americans, Becky Holliday and Lacy Janson to another Olympics.
In the Women’s 400 meters, Sanya Richards-Ross, the Bronze medalist from Beijing, will lead the Americans, Dee Dee Trotter and Francena McCrory, in London.

With a time of 4:14.47 in the 1,500 meters, Ashton Eaton advanced to the Olympics with a World Record of 9,039 points.
In the Women’s 100m, Carmelita Jeter takes the American title at 10.92 seconds, but Jeneba Tarmoh just edges Allyson Felix for potentially the third spot on the Olympic Team. Tianna Madison was 2nd.
With 1094.85 points, by a margin of 77 points, Krug heads to her first Olympic games with Christina Loukas.
In 3m Springboard, Loukas heads to her second Olympics, taking 2nd at trials, 77 points out of first.
With 1081.50 points, Viola will head to London as the American champion.
Christopher Colwill gets the win by 9.10 points and will be joined by Troy Dumais in London, as Kristian Ipsen comes up short.
After making the Syncho Team with Kristian Ipsen, Dumais will also be diving in the individual 3m Springboard. Taking 2nd place behind Chris Colwill.
In Beijing Brittany Viola was an alternate, but now she is firmly on the Team in first place with her 1081.5 points win.
