Position: Communications Coordinator
Reports to: Communications Director

Position Overview:
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for helping the department develop and execute PR strategies to support the Network and position it as the leading provider of Olympic and endurance sports programming. This person should have an affinity for multiple sports, and is responsible primarily for both proactive and reactive media relations and social media, and creating content for multiple company platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communications:
• Draft consumer facing advisories, releases and event previews publicizing the Network’s on air and online programming.
• Create and write marketing materials and social media posts.
• Keep updated media lists, monitor media coverage and compile press clippings for both traditional and new media.
Social Media:
• Help develop, plan and execute strategic social media plans and campaigns by owning social media calendar.
• Serve as a brand ambassador by monitoring Network social media platforms on a daily basis and communicating with fans.
• Foresee trends and utilize digital assets to reach consumers through digital media platforms.
• Update weekly departmental social media dashboard.
Administrative:
• Support marketing department with other online, on-air and offline tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
• MUST have an affinity for sports and social media.
• 2 – 3 years experience with a successful track record in publicity/communications and social media.
• Demonstrated copy writing ability in the form of social media posts, press releases, advisories, pitch letters, etc.
• Possess comprehensive understanding of social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google +, Instagram, etc.
• Strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop).
• Entrepreneurial spirit.
• Bachelors degree in journalism, communications, or English from accredited University.
Skill Requirements:
• Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
• Ability to articulate ideas and messaging through written materials (Writing samples are required).
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Capable of working independently without direction, if needed, within a team environment.

UNIVERSAL SPORTS NETWORK is currently looking for a Freelance On Air Promotions AVID Editor for their Denver Office. This person should have a flair for sports television storytelling. They must me capable of creating 30 second promos with different versions of each spot. (30’s, 20’s 10’s) Editors should also be capable of editing short teases as well as long format shows. They must be able to work in a Post Production environment with tight deadlines and maintain high quality. These Editors must be team players and be able to work well in a Producer/Editor atmosphere. They also need to be very creative and have a strong technical background.
Responsibilities:
• AVID HD Editing using Interplay Software with ISIS storage.
• Color correction experience with AVID Color Correction Tool
• Digitizing, Up resolution, and Digital Cut to tape and/or transfer processes.
• Editing with layers, matte keys, audio sweetening and other layer effects/tools including 3rd party plug ins with speed and efficiency for live broadcasts.
• Working knowledge of AVID Interplay
• Troubleshooting media processes & File transfer using AVID
• XDCAM, HDCAM, DVCPro HD, DNX145 and D5 deck knowledge
• Router knowledge – moving media to and from sources and playback methods.
• Interface with Engineering & Management in regard to maintenance problems or issues.
• Working Knowledge of After Effects
Qualifications:
• 3-5 Years non-linear editing experience (AVID Preferred)
• Must be Client oriented
• Must possess ability to work under time restraints and deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal & communications skills required
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities a must

Associate Producer
Reports to: Coordinating Producer
Location: Centennial, CO
DUTIES: Assist the production teams with the preparation of show material for live or same day delay broadcasts of international sporting events. Associate Producers will work directly with producers in monitoring live feeds, ingesting archival material, preparing graphics, writing copy, gathering research material for talent, and completing necessary documentation related to each show.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must have 5+ years of working in television broadcasting, especially in a high paced on-air sports environment. Experience working with post-production is a must. Hands on experience with Avid, Adobe After Effects, and/or Chyron Duet is a definite plus. A passion for a wide variety of sports is desired.
