Janier Alexis Acevedo (Jamis – Hagens Berman) finished Stage 2 with a winning time of 5:07:40. Acevedo was able to break away from rider Tejay Van Garderen (BMC) on the last climb to beat him to the finish. Acevedo now leads the GC by 12 seconds.

Racing in 105 degree heat, it was Lieuwe Westra (Vacansoleil-dcm) who emerged victorious, finishing with a winning time of 4:31:33. Westra won a 2 man sprint over rider Franciso Mancebo (5-Hour Energy). Westra leads the GC by 4 seconds.
