Martins Dukurs finished second with a time of 1:47.40, .21 seconds behind Frank Rommel. Dukurs’ error came in curve 6, leading into turn 7, where he tapped the wall. Dukurs is still the overall leader.
Frank Rommel (GER) finished with a time of 1:47.19, beating Martins Dukurs by .21 seconds. Rommel had a close race with Dukurs at Lake Placid, but was disqualified when his sled weighed 100 grams outside the legal limits.
Alexander Zubkov (RUS) has been unstoppable thus far, racking up a hat trick of wins and finishing with a time of 1:43.29. Holcomb has won 3 straight in 2-man but can’t seem to get past Zubkov in the 4-man.
Steve Holcomb (USA) was unable to pull out his usual magic, as he finished with a time of 1:43.89, landing .60 seconds out of first. He sits in 2nd place with 612 points.
USA 3, piloted by Cory Butner, took a hard crash into the wall and was disqualified when passenger Nicholas Taylor ejected himself in a panic during the crash. This crash came soon after a crash from Belgium.
Belgium was using a borrowed sled for their run, yet still managed to cross the finish line with a time of 1:53.96.
With her three wins of last season, Kaillie Humphries remains perfectly on top with her new breakmen Chelsea Valois, winning by .69 seconds.
Track star Lolo Jones (USA) switches drivers in her second World Cup Bobsled race, joining Elana Meyers and taking 10th place, 1.32 seconds off the podium.
The women’s bobsled coaching staff continues to experiment with the driver and brakeman combinations this weekend. Elana Meyers will team with Lolo Jones in the KOA sled.
It looked as though Steve Holcomb and brakeman Steven Langton (USA) were going to lose going into the final turn, but somehow managed to gain speed and grab another victory. They finished with a time of 1:45.26.
Lyndon Rush along with brakeman Lascelles Brown (CAN), finished with a time of 1:45.30, just .04 seconds behind Holcomb. Silver isn’t too bad for Rush but last year he took home the gold at Whistler.
Marion Thees (GER) received her first win of the WC season finishing with a time of 1:50.92. Thees led after the first run and was able to hold onto the lead to pull out a victory.
Noelle Pikus-Pace (USA) finished 6th with a time of 1:51.37, just .18 seconds off the podium. Fellow American Katie Uhlaender took 7th place.
