Kenyan Jemima Jelagat was a clear favorite at the start of the race, and lead for the majority of it. Jelagat finished with a personal best time of 2:23:27, beating out second place Ethiopian Abebech Afework.
Ethiopian Tilahun Regassa finished with a final time of 2:05:38. Regassa seemed on pace to break the course record halfway through, but struggled in the final kms to keep record pace. This is the second consecutive year that Ethiopia has won.
