Mike Alexandrov wasn’t the most popular contender coming in, as all eyes were on Ryan Lochte and Mark Gangloff. However, Alexandrov finished with a winning time of 1:01.76.
American Karlee Bispo stunned everyone with an upset win, beating out Ashley Wanland and Rachael Nicol with a time of 1:09.37. Bispo did not plan on winning the event and was actually using it to get better at her IM.
