Ethiopian Lelisa Desisa won the 2013 Men’s Race of the Boston Marathon with a final time of 2:10.22. Desisa traveled in a pack of 3 men during the final mile of the race, but was able to pull away to get the victory.
Kenyan Rita Jeptoo eared her second Boston Marathon title finishing with a time of 2:26.24. Jeptoo won her first Boston Marathon in 2006.

We spoke with Joshua Cassidy after his winning of the Men’s Push Rim race in the 2012 Boston Marathon.
In the men’s race, coming up from behind, Korir passes Bernard Kipyego and Levy Matebo to lead the Kenya sweep at 2:12:40, 26 seconds.
In the Women’s race, Sharon Cherop lead a Kenya sweep by 2 seconds, at 2:31:50, ahead of Jemima Sumgong and Georgina Rono.
Joshua Cassidy (CAN) wins the men’s race with a course record at 1:18:25. In the women’s Shirley Reilly (USA) wins by :01 at 1:37:36.
The men’s field includes Gebre Gebremariam, the third-place finisher last year and the 2010 New York City champion, and Robert Kiprono Cheruiyot, the 2010 Boston winner. The top women include Sharon Cherop and Caroline Rotich.
