The 31 year old Shelley Rudman became the first British women to win the Skeleton World championships, finishing with a time of 4:38.6. Rudman was a silver medalist at the 2006 Olympic games and is the current overall WC champion.
22-year-old Francesco Friedrich and brakeman Jannis Baecker (GER) surprised all competitors Sunday, finishing with a total time of 4.22.78. Friedrich set a new track record and had the best times in 3 of the 4 runs.
Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries of Canada successfully defended her world championship, teaming with brakeman Chelsea Valois to finish the four-run competition in 4 minutes, 30.31 seconds — 0.68 seconds faster than Elana Meyers and Katie Eberling.
Tina Maze (SLO) has been having an amazing WC these year and she adds to her GS lead with a win in St. Moritz, finishing with a time of 2:11.07. Maze has been on the podium in her last four races.

Tessa Worley (FRA) won last year at St. Moritz, but couldn’t generate the same results this time around. However, finishing 0.55 seconds behind the winner, France’s 23-year-old Worley scored her first podium since last season.
Lindsey Vonn (USA) seemed to be set up perfectly for another win as she finished her first run with the 5th best time. She lost control of her skis during her second run and lost precious seconds. Vonn’s final time was 2:16.92 and she finished 27th.

Lisa Blomqvist (SWE) went for a ride as she lost control of her skies and was sent flying into the netting — or rather under it. Blomqvist looked injured but she was OK.
Tina Maze (SLO) finished with a time of 1:03.08, .37 seconds behind Lindsey Vonn. Maze won the Super Combined and still remains the overall World Cup leader with 577 points.
Julia Mancuso (USA) finished with a time of 1:03.72, .35 seconds behind second place Tina Maze. Mancuso shared the podium with fellow American Lindsey Vonn who won the race. Mancuso now sits in 5th in the overall standings.
After a disappointing ski out in the super combined, Lindsey Vonn stepped up her game up and finished with a time of 1:02.71. Vonn is just five wins away from tying the women’s all-time record for career wins.

Nicole Hosp (AUT) finished with a time of 2:02.64, .88 seconds out of first. Hosp Had an impressive first run that placed her 7th at the start of the second round. Her fellow countrywoman Zettel finished third.
Tina Maze (SLO) finished with a time of 2:01.76, almost a full second over second place Nicole Hosp (AUT). This is Maze’s third win of the season, and she still leads in the overall standings.
After a string of impressive runs, Lindsey Vonn’s luck unfortunately ran out. Vonn was sitting in fourth place after her first run, but met trouble during the second run, losing control of her skies and knocking herself out the competition.
Julia Mancuso finished in 11th with a time of 2:04.50; Mancuso was 5th after the first run, but was unable to keep up her spot in the second run, falling 1.66 off the podium.
