Hannes Reichelt (AUT) and Dominik Paris (ITA) were joint winners at 1:58.62 in the closest finish to an Alpine skiing World Cup downhill, with only 0.02 seconds separating the top four in Bormio on Saturday.
24-year-old Travis Ganong (USA) scored his first top ten finish in the World Cup, taking 7th, .48 seconds off the podium.
World Cup leader Aksel Lund Svindal was 0.01 seconds behind Hannes Reichelt and Dominik Paris for third place, the Norwegian’s sixth top three placing of the winter.
Joachim Puchner (AUT) had a rough ride and eventually lost his footing, wiping out into the netting.
Andrej Sporn (SLO) couldn’t keep his feet and goes down during his downhill run in Bormio.
