Sally Pearson (AUS) managed to stay in the race today, but this time Dawn Harper-Nelson (USA) gets the win over Queen Harrison (USA) at 12.66, with great finishing speed.

2014 Diamond League: Birmingham: Sharp wins 800m

As Brenda Martinez (USA) was challenging Diamond League winner leader Eunice Sum (KEN), Lynsey Sharp (GBR) blew passed both of them for the win at 1:59.14. Ajee Wilson (USA) disappointed in 6th lace.

2014 Diamond League: Birmingham: Cherono wins 2 Mile

Mercy Cherono (KEN) gets the win, with the second fastest time in history at 9:11.49. Counting as a 5000m, it’s Cherono’s third win, with just the final left.

2014 Diamond League: Birmingham: Stewart wins 100m

Kerron Stewart (JAM) gets the win by .03 seconds at 11.22. Diamond League leader Tori Bowie (USA) unfortunately hurt herself in the race, which may prevent her from winning the season.

Kirani James (GRN) gets his second Diamond League win this season at 44.59 seconds. But it’s not enough as Leshawn Merritt (USA) has secured the Diamond earlier with four wins.

The star-studded Sainsbury’s Birmingham Grand Prix returns to the Birmingham Alexander Stadium on Sunday 24th August. Now in its fourth year, the prestigious IAAF Diamond League meet will welcome a world-class line up to the West Midlands as the best athletes in the world take to the track and field.

2013 Diamond League: Birmingham: Ryan Brathwaite wins 110m hurdles

Ryan Brathwaite took the advantage after Davis Payne disqualified, finishing with a time of 13.13. Brathwaite also finished 1st in his previous event at Bridgetown Barbados.

In the last 100m, Mo Farah (GBR) pushed away from Ethiopian runners Yenew Alamirew and Hagos Gebrhiwet to get the win. Farah finished with a time of 13:14.24, sitting 3rd in the overall standings with 4 points.

Blessing Okagbare (NGR) defeated Shelley-Ann Fraser Pryce (JAM) in a stunning victory, finishing with a time of 22.55. Pryce still leads in the overall standings with 6 points.

Javier Culson (PUR) lead the way in the men’s hurdles, finishing with a time of 48.59 over Rhys Williams (GBR). American Michael Tinsley finished 3rd in the event.

2013 Diamond League: Birmingham: Mohammed Aman wins 800m

Mohammed Aman (ETH) finished with a winning time of 1:45.18 over Andre Olivier. Aman leads the overall standings with 10 points.

2013 Diamond League: Birmingham: Ohuruogu wins 400m in photo finish

Christine Ohuruogu (GBR) just barely beat out Amantle Montsho (BOT) at the finish line, finishing with a time of 50.63. American Natasha Hastings finished 4th in the event.

2013 Diamond League: Birmingham: Nesta Carter wins 100m

Nesta Carter (JAM) finished with a time of 9.99. Carter was the only competitor to go under the 10 second mark and sits in 2nd in the overall standings behind Justin Gatlin.

2013 Diamond League: Birmingham: Dawn Harper-Nelson wins 100m

American Dawn Harper-Nelson won with a time of 12.64 over American Kellie Wells by .03 seconds. Harper-Nelson was the Olympic silver medalist last year and leads the overall standings with 12 points.
