In the 9th Diamond League meet, while Yenew Alamirew (ETH) manages to hold on to his Diamond League lead, he takes 2nd today, .67 seconds behind Hagos Gebrhiwet (ETH), who won with the slowest time this season at 13:11.09.

2014 Diamond League: Paris: Soi wins Men’s 5000m

Edwin Soi (KEN) wins the Men’s 5,000m with a World Leading Record this year of 12:59.82. He previously won Gold in the Beijing Olympics for the same event.

2014 Diamond League: Oslo: Alamirew wins 5000m

Yenew Alamirew (ETH) takes the Diamond League lead beating Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku (KEN) for his 2nd win this season at 13:01.57. Galen Rupp took 3rd.

After losing the first race in Doha, 2010 junior champ, Genzebe Dibaba (ETH) comes back to win the second race at 14:34.99, beating Almaz Ayana (ETH) by 2.17 seconds.

2013 ISU Speed Skating World Cup: Salt Lake City: Jonathan Kuck 5th in 5000m

Jonathan Kuck (USA) finished with a new personal best time of time 6:09.73 while paired against Sverre Lunde Pedersen (NOR). Kuck took home the silver medal in yesterday’s Team Pursuit.

2013 ISU Speed Skating World Cup: Salt Lake City: Sven Kramer wins 5000m

Sven Kramer (NED) made it look easy as he cruised to the finish line with a time of 6:04.59. Kramer didn’t get the world record for this event but he did set a new track record.

2013 ISU Speed Skating Short Track World Cup: Kolomna: USA wins men’s 5000m Relay

The USA finished with a winning time of 6:48.268 over 2nd place Russia. Although this was a great win for the USA, Canada won the World Cup title for the event.

Sven Kramer (NED) finished with a winning time of 6:04, just .46 over fellow countryman Jorrit Bergsma. Kramer won gold in the 5000m at the 2010 Olympics.
