With Bode Miller out, it was Sullivan putting the Americans on the podium with a time of 1:48.97. Sullivan landed .66 seconds out of first place.
Max Franz’s (AUT) run of 1:48.95 stood the test of time through the first 21 skiers, but in the end it was Svindal (NOR) taking home the glory with an impressive run of 1:48.31.
Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR) finished with a time of 1:48.3, beating out 2nd placer Max Franz (AUT) by .64 seconds. Svindal was a favorite to win after the retirement of Didier Cuche and an injury keeping Bode Miller out of the competition.
Casse (ITA) looked to be putting together a solid run until losing control and crashing into the course netting. The race was delayed for several minutes as Casse was airlifted away.
