LOS ANGELES (April 18, 2014) – This Monday, the world will run as one with the City of Boston for the 118th running of the Boston Marathon. Actor Michael Chiklis will lend his voice to the opening sequence of Boston’s epic event airing on Universal Sports Network on April 21, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET LIVE.

Chiklis will narrate the three-minute show open which pays tribute to Boston’s legendary marathon and the runners who persevere over a course that is woven into the fabric of the city’s culture. The segment will air at approximately 9:28 a.m. ET following the pre-race show and just prior to the women’s elite start in Hopkinton.

The Emmy-Award winning actor is a true Boston native having been born in Lowell, MA, raised in Andover, MA and graduated from Boston University. Chiklis is most well-known for his roles as Commissioner Tony Scali on The Commish, corrupt police detective Vic Mackey on The Shield and The Thing in the Fantastic Four film series. He has also starred in several television series including roles on No Ordinary Family and Vegas.
