Maria Hoefl-Riesch Announces Retirement

Alpine skier Maria Hoefl-Riesch (GER) announced her retirement on Thursday at the age of 29:

Hoefl-Riesch won four Olympic medals and six World Championship medals in her decorated career.
In her final race, Hoefl-Riesch crashed at the FIS Alpine World Cup Finals in Lenzerheide, Switzerland on March 12. She still finished second in the World Cup overall standings and won the downhill crystal globe.
