By winning five World Cup events in 2013, Alaska native Kikkan Randall won her second straight FIS Cross Country World Cup sprint title and placed third in the overall standings – both firsts for a U.S. woman. In addition, Randall, along with teammate Jessie Diggins, captured the first-ever team sprint gold for the U.S. women at the World Ski Championships.
