Alberto Contador (TINKOFF) took home the General Classification for the third time (2008, 2012, 2014), and his 6th Grand Tour win, after the final stage of the 2014 Vuelta a Espana on Sunday. Chris Froome (SKY) was 2nd only 1:10 behind and Alejandro Valverde (MOVISTAR) was 3rd.
The Vuelta will feature eight mountain stages, five hill stages, five flat stages, and three time trials (one team and two individual), two of which will appear at the beginning and end of the race.
